Into The Fire, the reality TV series filmed using 70 of Primetech's FireCam OnCall helmet cameras, began transmission on January 8 on UKTV’s Really Channel.
The series, made by IMG Productions and which recently won the Project of the Year award in the Excellence in Fire and Emergency awards run by Fire magazine, used FireCam OnCall helmet-worn cameras to record unique fire incident and other footage as part of a documentary showing the work of West Mids FS firefighters.
HD versions of the state-of-the-art cameras were specifically selected by IMG Productions, the award-winning television production company, to record broadcast-quality action footage of firefighters operating in the often hazardous circumstances encountered in the day-to-day work of West Mids FS. The cameras were considered to be the best available for this kind of highly demanding work. The series is shown on the Really Channel. Henry Walker, director of Primetech, said: “Primetech is delighted to be sharing this major award with the West Midlands Fire Service. We were very happy to be able to support this highly innovative new reality TV series with the FireCam OnCall range of cameras.”
“FireCam OnCall High Definition helmet mounted cameras were specifically chosen for their cutting-edge technology, quality of image and audio, combined with ease of use. They are the only cameras, designed by firefighters for use by firefighters, that allow true 4k resolution video to be recorded at the push of a single button. We are delighted to be able to deliver a product which will enhance firefighting techniques together with firefighter safety.”
“The camera’s high resolution HD (or 4K) video imagery and audio can be recorded on SD cards (as they were with HD versions for the TV series), or live-streamed and viewed through Primetech’s MultiNet Comms integrated mobile satellite broadband communications and video system. Footage can also be viewed through a unique smartphone app.
In closing, Henry Walker said: “In Primetech’s view, FireCam OnCall body and helmet-worn cameras give Fire and Rescue Services and other Emergency Services a clear operational advantage, and we are delighted to be able to offer them to UK emergency services. We firmly believe these cameras will make a significant contribution to firefighter, emergency service personnel and public safety, and this award helps prove just how good these cameras are.”
